Preparation for our Tour

 Our group of friends is quite large, there must be about 20-22 people in total and all of them are college students.  Some of them are study in the general line, and others in the technical line.  Those who are in the General Line, after May-June of the year have free time. So they can go for travel at that time and those who are in the Technical Line, they have semester exams at that time. so they can only see the photos and do video calls of others at home.  I belongs in that second class.  Every time I see their insanity in video call, how does the mind become.  So we, the students in the technical line, decided to go somewhere after the semester in December and will explore an offbeat place.  So with the constant follow-up of Weekend Tours from Kolkata Group, some offbeat places were chosen, such as Peshak, Lamahata, Rangarun and Lepchajgat.  We are a total of seven people in the group, I, Pritam, Battu, Bidhan, Debashish, Avro and Deep.  As such, one day suddenly took everyone to a conference call one night and bought the tickets of Darjeeling mail, the Darjeeling Mail on 31st December at 10:10 pm from Sealdah station.  Start counting the days and once a day to open the IRCTC app to check if the ticket is confirmed or not.  Finally the long awaited day came but the problem was that even though all our tickets were confirmed, the ticket of deep wasn't confirmed.  Tension started, but we have decided that after getting on the train we will adjust with one seat.  But due to good fortune, it was also confirmed by 6:30 pm.

But it took a while to realize that our fortunes are not good at all. However, I will talk about it in due course.  We live in Dattapukur. From there it takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes by train to reach Sealdah.  So we set out at 8 pm to catch the Dattapukur local.  The ultimate insanity is going on in the mind.  As soon as we reached the station, we bought the tickets up to Sealdah.  But then none of us were ready for the sudden thunderstorm.  In the meanwhile our locals entered and stopped at the station.  But as soon as we get on the train, we hear that the train is blocked for some unknown reason.  Within a minute, there was a commotion at the station.  And I don't know the language to say what our condition was.  Until then, the bus route is also blocked.

 Without knowing what to do, we started running with huge luggage for the purpose of the road.  When we reached the road, we saw another incident, a huge traffic jam.  Guessing where I can get a little empty, I started going there.  Until then, all those who have the resources have been deployed for the purpose of procuring a private car.  But no one can come for this trouble.  Meanwhile, time is moving forward on its own.  The only thing on everyone's mind is that we have to catch the 10:10 Darjeeling mail.  The friends who came to the station to see us off, after a lot of searching, they called an auto.  But you can't reach Sealdah by an auto.  Still, we think, let's go to Barasat and make some arrangements from there. Somehow, with the help of those friends, we threw all the luggage in the car and got up ourselves.  But the road to Barasat is also blocked.  Then we had to took another off road to go barasat taking more or less 7-8 km extra; And finally left for Barasat.  Then the clock struck 8:30 p.m.

প্রস্তুতি

আমাদের বন্ধুদের গ্রুপ টা বেশ বড়ো, সবমিলিয়ে প্রায় ২০-২২ জন তো হবেই এবং সবাই মোটামুটি কলেজ স্টুডেন্ট। তার মধ্যে কিছু জন পড়ে জেনারেল লাইনে এবং কিছু জন পড়ে টেকনিক্যাল লাইনে। যারা জেনারেল লাইনে পরে তাদের বছরের মে – জুন এর সময় টায় ফাঁকা থাকে তাই ওরা ওই টাইম টাতে ঘুরতে যেতে পারে এবং যারা টেকনিক্যাল লাইনে পরে তাদের ঠিক ওই সময় টিতে সেমেস্টার এক্সাম তাই তারা ঘরে বসেই অন্যদের ফটো দেখে এবং ভিডিও কল করে মনের দুঃখ মেটায়। আমি ওই দ্বিতীয় শ্রেণীর মধ্যে পড়ি। প্রতিবার ভিডিও কলে ওদের বাওলামি দেখে মনটা কেমন করে ওঠে। তাই আমরা অর্থাৎ যারা টেকনিক্যাল লাইনে পড়ি তারা ঠিক করলাম ডিসেম্বর মাসে সেমেস্টার এর পরে কোথাও একটা যেতে হবে এবং যাবো কোনো অফবিট জায়গায়। তো উইকএন্ড টুরস ফ্রম কলকাতা গ্রুপ টিকে প্রতিনিয়ত অনুসরণ করার সুবাদে কিছু অফবিট জায়গা ঠিক ও হয়েগেলো সহজেই, যেমন পেষক, লামাহাটা, রঙ্গারুন এবং লেপচাজগৎ। আমরা গ্রুপে মোট সাত জন, আমি, প্রীতম, বাটটু, বিধান, দেবাশীষ, অভ্র এবং দীপ। সেই হিসেবে ট্রেন এর টিকিট ও কেটেনিলাম হটাৎ করেই একদিন রাতের বেলা সবাইকে কনফারেন্স কলে নিয়ে, ৩১ শে ডিসেম্বর দার্জিলিং মেইল রাত ১০:১০ এ শিয়ালদহ স্টেশন থেকে। শুরু হলো দিন গোনা এবং প্রতিদিন একবার করে আইআরসিটিসি অ্যাপ খুলে টিকিট কনফার্ম হলো কিনা চেক করা। অবশেষে এলো সেই বহু প্রতীক্ষিত দিন কিন্তু সমস্যা হলো আমাদের সবার টিকিট কনফার্ম হলেও দীপের টা হলো না। শুরু হলো টেনশন, কিন্তু ঠিক হলো ট্রেনে উঠে আমাদের করো একটা সিট এর সাথে এডজাস্ট করে নেওয়া যাবে। কিন্তু কপাল ভালো থাকায় সন্ধে ৬:৩০ নাগাদ সেটাও কনফার্ম হয়ে গেল।

 কিন্তু আমাদের কপাল যে আদতেই ভালো না সেটা বুঝতে একটু সময় লেগে গিয়েছিল।যাইহোক সেটার কথা যথা সময়েই বলবো। আমরা থাকি দত্তপুকুর সেখান থেকে শিয়ালদহ যেতে ট্রেনে সময় লাগে ১ ঘণ্টা ১০ মিনিট মত। সেইহিসেবে আমরা রাত ৮ এর দত্তপুকুর লোকাল ধরার উদ্দেশ্যে বেরিয়ে পড়ি। মনের মধ্যে তো চূড়ান্ত উন্মাদনা চলছে। স্টেশন এ পৌঁছনোর সাথে সাথেই সবাই এক এক করে চলে এলো এবং টিকিটও কেটে ফেলা হলো ট্রেন এর। কিন্তু এরপরই আচমকা যে বজ্রাঘাতটি হলো তার জন্য আমরা কেউই প্রস্তুত ছিলাম না। এরমধ্যে আমাদের লোকাল ঢুকে স্টেশনে দাড়িয়ে পড়েছে। কিন্তু যেই আমরা ট্রেনে উঠতে যাবো তখনই শুনি, কোনো একটি অজ্ঞাত কারণে ঝামেলা সৃষ্টি হওয়ার জন্য ট্রেন অবরোধ। মিনিটখানেকের মধ্যে স্টেশনে হুলুস্থূল কাণ্ড সৃষ্টি হলো। আর আমাদের অবস্থা যে কি ছিল সেটা খুলে বলার মতো ভাষা আমার জানা নেই। ততক্ষনে বাস রুটেও অবরোধ।

উদ্ধারের চেষ্টা

 কি করবো কিছু না বুঝেই বিশাল বিশাল লাগেজ নিয়ে দৌর লাগলাম রাস্তার উদ্দেশ্যে। রাস্তায় পৌঁছে দেখি সেখানে আরেক কাণ্ড, বিশাল ট্র্যাফিক জ্যাম। কোনদিকে গেলে একটু ফাঁকা পেতে পারি সেটা আন্দাজ করে সেদিকেই যাওয়া শুরু করলাম। ততক্ষনে যার কাছে যত সোর্স আছে সব লাগিয়ে ফেলা হয়ে গ্যাছে কোনো একটা প্রাইভেট গাড়ি জোগাড় করার উদ্দেশ্যে। কিন্তু এই ঝামেলার জন্য কেউই আসতে পারছে না। ওদিকে সময় তো নিজের মতো এগিয়ে চলেছে। সবার মনে একটাই ব্যাপার চলছে যে করে হোক ১০:১০ এর দার্জিলিং মেইল ধরতেই হবে। যে বন্ধুরা আমাদের সী অফ করতে স্টেশনে এসছিল, অনেক খোঁজাখুঁজির পর ওরা একটা অটো ডেকে নিয়ে এলো। কিন্তু ওই অটো করে তো আর শিয়ালদহ পৌঁছানো যাবে না। তবুও বারাসাত পর্যন্ত তো যাওয়া যাক ওখান থেকে কিছু একটা ব্যাবস্থা করে নেওয়া যাবে এই ঠিক করে কোনো রকমে ওই বন্ধু দের সাহায্যে লাগেজ সব অটো তে ছুড়ে ফেলে নিজেরাও উঠে পরলাম। কিন্তু বারাসাত যাবার রাস্তাটিও তো অবরোধ। তখন অন্য একটা অফ রোড দিয়ে প্রায় ৬-৭ কিমি বেশি ঘুরে অবশেষে রওনা দিলাম বারাসাত এর উদ্দেশ্যে। তখন ঘড়িতে রাত ৮:৩০।
