Lamahatta Eco Park was set up in 2012 at the initiative of the West Bengal government, 19 km from Darjeeling.  The park is located at an elevation of about 5,600 feet above sea level.

What to do:- Lamahatta Eco Park is a neat, clean place surrounded by a pine forest. An ideal place to enjoy 2-3 hours while traveling with the family.

The entrance fee of the park is 10 rupees per person.

Kanchonjongha is hidden behind the Clouds

One of the attractions of this park is the presence of the huge Kanchenjunga in stark contrast.  The extraordinary beautiful scenery can be enjoyed sitting in the park.  You can also sit here and enjoy the game of clouds with the pine forest.  You will no doubt be surprised by the sudden appearance of clouds and the enveloping of the entire pine forest.

The main attraction of visiting Lamahatta Eco Park is a natural water pond located above the park.  This pond is located 800 meters above the main park.  And this 800 meters you have to go by trekking.  The feeling of trekking 800 meters through the pine forest is amazing in one word.  If you get tired while trekking, there is a bamboo platform for resting.

Although the water in the Pond may not look good because it is not purified, but the quiet silence of that place will definitely impress you.  The thrill of climbing through the jungle of pine trees will stay with you.

So if you come to Darjeeling or any place in the vicinity for the purpose of travel, you can come and spend a day in this Lamahatta Eco Park, with your family.

How to get there - The distance from New Jalpaiguri to Lamahatta is about 60 kilometers.  If you want to visit Lamhata Ecopark from Siliguri or New Jalpaiguri, there are two ways you can reach Lamahatta.

You can reach Lamahatta Eco Park by renting a car from Siliguri or New Jalpaiguri station.  In this case it will take you about 3 hours.  And the rent is 2500-3000 rupees.

Take a bus or any other car from Darjeeling to Jor Bungalow.  From there, get on any car in the direction of Peshak and drive to Lamahatta Eco Park.

Also if you come to visit Darjeeling, you can also come to Lamahatta Eco Park from there one day for the purpose of site seeing.

Where to stay: - Although most tourists come here for site seeing purposes, there are several home stays. Among them Lamahatta Home Stay, Lamahatta Lodge, Kanchenjunga View Home Stay are worth mentioning.  The cost per person to stay and eat is 1300-1400 rupees per night.

লামাহাট্টা ইকো পার্ক টি ২০১২ সালে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের উদ্যোগে গড়ে ওঠে দার্জিলিং থেকে ১৯ কিলোমিটার দূরে। সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠ থেকে পার্কটি মোটামুটি ৫৭০০ ফুট উচুতে অবস্থিত।

লামাহাট্টা ইকো পার্ক টি হলো মূলত পাইন গাছের জঙ্গল দিয়ে ঘেরা সাজানো গোছানো, পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন একটি স্থান। প্রতিবারের সাথে ভ্রমণে গিয়ে ২-৩ ঘণ্টা উপভোগ করার মত আদর্শ একটি জায়গা।

এই পার্ক টির অন্যতম একটি আকর্ষন হলো, এর একদম বিপরীতেই বিশাল কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘার উপস্থিতি। যার অসাধারণ সুন্দর দৃশ্য পার্কে বসেই উপভোগ করা যায়। এছাড়াও আপনি এখানে বসে উপভোগ করতে পারেন পাইন বনের সাথে মেঘেদের খেলা। হটাৎ করে মেঘ এসে সম্পূর্ণ পাইন বন টিকে ঢেকে ফেলে রহস্যময় করে তোলার দৃশ্য আপনাকে নিঃসন্দেহে অবাক করে তুলবে।

লামাহাট্টা ইকো পার্ক ভ্রমণের প্রধান আকর্ষন হলো পার্কটির ওপরে অবস্থিত একটি প্রাকৃতিক জলাশয়। এই জলাশয় টি মূল পার্কের থেকে ৮০০ মিটার ওপরে অবস্থিত। এবং এই ৮০০ মিটার আপনাকে যেতে হবে ট্রেকিং করে। পাইন বনের ভেতর দিয়ে এই ৮০০ মিটার ট্রেকিং করে ওপরে ওঠার অনুভূতি এক কথায় অসাধারণ। ট্রেক করে ওপরে ওঠার সময় ক্লান্ত হোয়ে পড়লে, বিশ্রাম নেবার জন্য তৈরি করে রাখা আছে বাঁশের মাচা।

ওপরের জলাশয়টির জল পরিশ্রুত না হবার কারণে সেটি খুব একটা ভালো না লাগলেও, ওপরের কোলাহল হীন নিস্তব্ধতা আপনাকে নিশ্চিত ভাবে মুগ্ধ করবে। সাথে পাইন গাছের জঙ্গল দিয়ে ওপরে ওঠার রোমাঞ্চকর অনুভূতি আপনার সাথে থেকে যাবে।

তাই ভ্রমণের উদ্দেশ্যে দার্জিলিং অথবা তার আশেপাশের কোন স্থানে এলে, একটা দিন এসে কাটিয়ে যেতেই পারেন এই লামাহাট্টা ইকো পার্কে, পরিবারকে সাথে নিয়ে।

কিভাবে যাবেন - নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি থেকে লামাহাট্টার দূরত্ব প্রায় ৭০ কিলোমিটারের কাছাকাছি। আপনি যদি শিলিগুড়ি অথবা নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি থেকে লামহাটা ইকোপার্ক ভ্রমন করতে চান, তাহলে দুইরকম ভাবে আপনি লামাহাট্টা পৌঁছতে পারেন।

শিলিগুড়ি অথবা নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি স্টেশন থেকে গাড়ি ভাড়া করে আপনি পৌঁছতে পারেন লামাহাট্টা ইকো পার্ক। এক্ষেত্রে আপনার সময় লাগবে প্রায় ৩ ঘণ্টা। এবং ভাড়া ২৫০০-৩০০০ টাকা।

দার্জিলিঙের কোনো বাস অথবা অন্য কোনো গাড়িতে করে চলে যান জোর বাংলো। সেখান থেকে পেশক এর দিকের যে কোনো গাড়িতে উঠে চলে আসুন লামাহাট্টা ইকো পার্ক।

এছাড়াও আপনি যদি দার্জিলিং ভ্রমন করতে আসেন, তবে সেখান থেকেও একদিন লামাহাট্টা ইকো পার্ক আসতে পারেন সাইট সিইং এর উদ্দেশ্যে।
